Writing a resume is a very tricky thing to do. Condensing your qualifications onto one sheet of paper is tough but it makes the world of a difference. It is known that your potential employer will only spend 30seconds reading a resume alone and have already formed a judgement in 5seconds!
Nervous! Don’t be, here are some tips for creating a strong résumé that would qualify you for any deserving position.
1. Never lie
Don’t tell tales on your résumé. If you didn’t do it don’t put it! Employers will expect to see you fulfill certain qualifications immediately. So doing so can back fire quickly!
2. Contact information
Your contact information should be bold, italicized, or in larger print so it is noticeable. (Name, address, best number to contact you, and professional email)
3. Don’t be too wordy
Resumes are designed to be quick and easy. It is not intended to be essay. Highlight on what is the most important! Just make sure to use the right key words.
