When it comes to my music taste it is pretty much songs that are at least 5-10 years old, a couple recents from my old time favorites and mostly original local music like SYKEZ, and Ywn. I am not a fan of a lot of the recent or popular music that is out right now, especially hip hop. I kind of listen to whatever floats my boat.
Recently I was listening to the Kendrick Lamar pandora station with one of his biggest ‘stans’, and the song ‘Flower Child’ by Nitty Scott played. The song has an old school hip feel and beat. Nitty Scott’s voice piercing through and perfect for rapping. When it hit I can not help but bop my head. Her lyrics strong and relatable.
Okay, buffering, creativity suffering
When you bustlin’ hustlin’ for the numbers
So I can weave these dreams and polish up these gems
In the end, I got love for the show biz
But sometimes you gotta stop and smell the roses
Keeping up with the Kardashians and Joneses
Nah, I take my time and compose this
