THE SHOOTS: Kat Dolly Black e-zine shoot!

Ever since Tyree and I met the Kat, maybe a year ago, we wanted to shoot her. She’s beautiful, inside and out, and we wanted to capture it! On the spur of the moment we decided to photograph her, and we had a lot of fun! Just like most things in this industry, everything did not go as planned. This shoot was supposed to be the cover of the summer fall issue, and be featured in the zine. Obviously we went with one of the lookbook shots for the cover, but we found a good use for the pictures!

I recently came upon the following photography website, Feature Photography. Photographers submit their photograph sets, and editorials. It is so interesting to see all of the different stories photographers are telling through their lens. It is so creative, and really inspirational. I am already in talks with my photog friends about what cool stories we can tell. Here are pictures from an interesting one:

I am always meeting new people, and potential collaborators in the Valley. Ever since I started working at Hat City Kitchen, not even a year ago, I have already made friendships, and connections that I will probably have for a lifetime. Such talent, here. One being, talented photographer, Eva Woolridge who is also a student & hostess here at Hat City Kitchen. I am proud to say that she is on the Team! This summer, she is on hand for numerous photo shoots and the of course the fashion show!

Here are two newly added Volunteer days with the SWAG Project in Newark, NJ!

Sunday, May 19th - Farm Work Day

Come out and help us weed, water and tidy up the (now sprouting!) farm before we launch our farmer’s market stand at the end of this month! Bring your own gloves, water bottle, sun block, and work clothes please. Fresh healthy snacks will be provided.

Friday, May 31st - Neighborhood Tree Planting! Time TBA.

We’ve teamed up with the NJ Tree Foundation to beautify the neighborhood. We’ll need lots of folks on hand to work in small teams of 3 to plant trees all around our block. I know that many people work Fridays, but if you could get one little afternoon off, come start the weekend early with us by planting something that will improve the environment for years to come! Playing with the idea of having a little BBQ immediately following…
