Set the Table NJ ~ In Collaboration with The HUUB, Building Solidarity Potluck Series & Britt Bites

Building Solidarity Potluck Series
This month we will be remembering some of Orange’s history and thinking about the future of our communities.
NJTPA’s “Set the Table” initiative to gain insight from New Jersey’s youth for its long-range transportation plan. Khemani Gibson, HUUB Fellow, and historian will speak about Orange’s past in relation to industrial pollution and its impact on workers and residents in the area. We will make canvas patches to wear to and in solidarity with the Climate March in D.C. on April 29th.
The Meta Theatre company is joining us again with new monologs and a response to our creation from the March potluck.
Please bring a dish, a friend, and a recipe! We are starting an “Orange Cookbook” in collaboration with the William Street Community Garden. We would love recipe contributions with a short description of any personal or cultural significance the dish holds for you.

More information about Set The Table NJ below:
Do you wish it were easier, cheaper, and safer to get around or live in North Jersey?
Do you want to get involved locally but aren’t sure how?
Did you know YOU have a say in how federal transportation money is spent?
Rutgers University has invited me to host a gathering for people between ages 18 and 29 called Set the Table!. is seeking people between ages 18 and 29 living in the North Jersey region* to participate in Set the Table! A gathering of your friends and peers talking about their ideas about how to make New Jersey a better place to live.
The North Jersey metropolitan area receives funding for transportation and other projects each year from the US Department of Transportation, and YOU can help decide how that money is spent. We want your input!
Rutgers is working with the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority to engage and gather feedback, concerns, and ideas on the what is most important today and in the future for the Regional Transportation Plan which covers the 13 counties that comprise the northern region of New Jersey.  That’s why we need your help and feedback!
Join us Monday, April 17th for this discussion and more in collaboration with the HUUB’s Building Solidarity Potluck Series, Britt Bites, and Masconsumption Media.
