“The Valley Settlement House is a nonprofit organization that caters to the needs of families with low income and in need of child care. I’m a Prekindergarten teacher during the school year and a camp counselor in the summer. So I get to work with young children and young teenagers. It’s a wonderful position because not too many men work in Prekindergarten and they need more of us. I actually went there when I was a child and a lot of the people that worked there when I was kid are still there. So once I graduated high school I went back and was looking for a summer job and that’s how it all began. Then I got certified to teach prekindergarten while still finishing up my degree at Kean University.”

We celebrate Victor for the work he is doing in giving back to his community by being a teacher and a role model.

If you know a young person from or living in Orange making a positive impact on the community or the larger world that we should highlight, send us a brief description of their work along with a photo to
