Housing Justice Conference, Film Screening, a Concert for Peace & more Upcoming Events


On Monday, October 24th the HUUB (35 Cleveland Street, Orange New Jersey) is doing a film screening for She’s Beautiful When She’s Angry (2014). The documentary, directed by Mary Dore explores the movers, and the shakers and the events of the feminist movement from 1966-71 and how the conversation is continuing today.

The conference, also celebrating the First Unitarian Church of Essex’s 125th Anniversary. As well as honor local leaders who also have done important work in housing and social justice including Pat Morrissy. They’ll also be a catered lunch, reception and cocktail hour. musiccity Remembering Rose: A Concert for Peace – December 1st @ 6pm

Rosa Parks Community School 369 Main Street, Orange, New Jersey, 07050

The concert commemorates the 61st anniversary of Rosa Park’s refusal to give up her seat and the beginning of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. The concert will feature performances by congregational and student choirs from around the city, demonstrating the unifying power of shared music making and the capacity it builds within us to confront our fears both as individuals and communities.
