David Wald had been photographing since he was 8 years old. His primary interest has been documenting the day to day occurrences of his life. “Moments,” his first organized show since high school, represents his interest in highlighting what is often seen, and often overlooked, as “ordinary”.

The Reflection series is an attempt to alter the viewers’ perception to see reflection as reality and reality as reflection. The Cemetery Headstones, all photographed in the small artist community of Madrid, N.M., outside Santa Fe, is intended to highlight how uniquely memorable one’s final resting place can be – the opposite of ordinary. The videos are also primarily about the everyday: the falling of snow, the drip of saline solution, the details of the artist’s father’s passing, and a dog’s passion for cleaning her master (and her love of salt).
