WHAT WE LOVE: Jersey Indie

New Jersey is rich with arts. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Valley Arts District, here in Orange. But there is the Ironbound in Newark, Maplewood and more.  My blog focuses on the Valley Arts District but last year I came across Jersey Indie with focuses on the entire Garden State.

Last year I came across the blog on twitter and facebook. I noticed Jersey Indie was reposting, re-tweeting many of my posts. I would thank them, and kept them in the back of my head. This year, Jersey Indie now has an official website, which is really cool.

What I love about Jersey Indie is the nonprofit’s mission to broadcast and cultivate the creative arts in New Jersey. The homepage gives you the opportunity to search all regions in the state. You can look at events, past event coverage, spotlight on artists/musicians, and a page specifically for small businesses.

I am happy to see that Masconsumption and Jersey Indie have found a way to work together in bringing attention to the surge in artistic activity here. You can see posts all about the Valley Arts District and more on JerseyIndie.com’s blog. As well as discover other artists, events, services and more in this state.

Sonia Schnee, who runs the site is very nice and open to sharing local events. Like all of Jersey Indie’s social media which is super active with updates on events. If you are looking for something to do in Maplewood, Montclair, etc. always look to Jersey Indie. Visit the following pages and see why we love this blog!
